Hockey India (HI) announced a 33-member core probable list for the upcoming women’s national camp. The camp aims to prepare the team for the FIH Hockey Pro League matches starting in May. Seasoned veterans like Savita Punia and Vandana Katariya find themselves alongside some exciting new faces.
Blending Experience with Fresh Talent
The squad features a healthy mix of experienced players who spearheaded India’s historic fourth-place finish at the Tokyo Olympics and promising youngsters who impressed at the recent National Championship. This blend of experience and fresh talent suggests a focus on both immediate success and long-term development.
Notable Inclusions
There are several noteworthy inclusions in the camp. Young defenders Ropni Kumari and Preeti, along with midfielder Edula Jyoti and forwards Deepika Soreng and Rutuja Pisal, have been rewarded for their performances in the Junior World Cup. Additionally, the return of veteran Preeti Dubey after a five-year absence adds valuable experience to the group.
