The Women’s Inter Zonal Multi-Day Trophy 2024 semi-finals are shaping up to be thrilling encounters. East Zone staged a remarkable comeback against North Zone, taking a commanding 270-run lead on the back of solid batting performances. South Zone, meanwhile, secured a crucial 59-run first-innings lead over West Zone.

East Zone Batsmen Shine After Restricting North

East Zone bowlers, led by Mamta Paswan and Deepti Sharma, restricted North Zone to a meagre 144 runs. In response, East Zone’s batters displayed grit and determination. Uma Chetry, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh, and Dhara Gujjar all contributed valuable runs, propelling their team to a dominant position.

South Zone Edges West Zone in Tight Contest

The other semi-final saw a closely fought battle. South Zone managed to post a competitive 289 runs in the first innings. West Zone, despite decent contributions from Yastika Bhatia, DP Vaidya, Smriti Mandhana, and Radha Yadav, fell short, bundled out for 230 runs. South Zone openers M Durga and Tamanna Nigam are currently at the crease, looking to extend their lead further.
