Mumbai City FC continued their dominant run in the 2023-24 ISL season with a convincing 3-0 victory over Hyderabad FC. This win solidifies their position at the top of the table, extending their lead to five points.
Mumbai City FC on Fire
The Islanders showcased their attacking prowess, exploiting weaknesses in the Hyderabad defense throughout the match. Vikram Partap Singh, the league’s leading Indian scorer, orchestrated the first goal with a delightful assist for Lallianzuala Chhangte. Mumbai doubled their lead through a well-coordinated header by Mehtab Singh, following a pinpoint cross from Thaer Krouma.
Second Half Domination
The second half mirrored the first, with Mumbai FC dictating the tempo. Vikram Partap Singh continued to be a thorn in Hyderabad’s side, nearly adding to the scoreline himself before earning a penalty in the closing stages. Jorge Pereyra Diaz coolly converted the spot-kick, putting the game to bed and securing a comfortable victory for the visitors.
Mumbai City FC in Control
With this win, Mumbai FC has a firm grip on the top spot in the ISL standings. Their closest challengers, Mohun Bagan Super Giant, trail by five points with a game in hand. However, Mumbai FC’s clinical display against Hyderabad FC sends a strong message to the rest of the league about their title ambitions.
